To our Patients,

As you may already be aware, Governor Ron DeSantis has issued Executive Order 20-52 permitting dental offices to resume elective dental procedures beginning the week of May 4, 2020. This order was based on guidance provided by the White House Coronavirus Task Force, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and the Florida Surgeon General. Accordingly, Bayview Dental Arts re-opened on Thursday, May 7th.

We have been diligently working on every detail to keep everyone as safe as possible. Foremost, we have tested the entire office staff (from the front desk professionals to the hygienists and dentists) for Covid-19. In addition, we will be implementing new and additional office procedures to increase your safety while at our office, such as masks for patients while in the reception area, hand sanitizer, and even disposable steering wheel covers for your car provided by our professional valet. You will also notice, as you approach our office, that we have erected a provisional “greeting” tent (pictured). Here, you will be asked a few initial screening questions and have your temperature taken before you enter the office. In addition, we have installed electronic automatic entry door openers so that you will not have to come into contact with any door handles.

Most importantly, we have affiliated with a medical laboratory named MicroGenDx. For the immediate future, we will be using this company to provide COVid-19 testing for our patients prior to their dental visits. The test is an extremely simple saliva test that can be done in the comfort of your own home. The test will be sent directly to your home and is shipped to the lab by FedEx. MicroGenDx claims the results should be returned in 24- 72 hours after they receive the sample, HOWEVER our initial experience with return times in some instances have been greater. THEREFORE, IT IS IMPERATIVE, ONCE YOU RECEIVE THE "AT HOME TEST", THAT YOU COMPLETE THE TEST AND RETURN IT ASAP. THIS SHOULD ENSURE THAT YOU WILL BE ABLE TO KEEP YOUR PREVIOUSLY SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT TIME.

The fee for the test is $99 which has to be pre-paid to the lab. You can also be reassured that this lab has been validated and added to the FDA website as a resource laboratory for CoVid-19 testing.

We feel that by requiring this test for patients, prior to their appointment, we can provide the safest possible environment. If you do have a previous COVID-19 test from your primary physician, those results will be accepted.

Can't wait to see you again!

Sincerely,
BayView Dental Arts
